Meet Cynthia Coleman, age 73, a retired educator who was one of the first black teachers at my middle school, South Jr. High.
I started providing strength training to Cynthia over 2 years ago to improve her core balance and muscular strength. Through her consistency and hard work she has greatly improved her overall health, strength, and well being. Before I start fitness with a client we discuss fitness goals and I give them a fitness assessment to assess their agility, upper and lower body strength, flexibility, core strength and cardio endurance. I also did a comparison to other women in Cynthia's age range and with the results it gives me a baseline and it allowed me to create a fitness program based on Cynthia's needs and goals.
During Cynthia's initial fitness assessment September 2020 she performed 2 squats, 17 arm curls, and 20 abdominal crunches. During her most current fitness assessment April 2023, she performed 24 squats, 32 arm curls, and 50 abdominal crunches. She used to walk with a cane and shuffled her feet when she walked because of balance and stability concerns, today she does not use a cane to walk and she no longer shuffles her feet when she walks.
Additionally her upper and lower body flexibility has greatly improved as well as her memory and confidence in her ability to move about without the fear of falling. Cynthia has made fitness a lifestyle.

Angela Nelson, age 56, began her fitness and healthy eating journey with Whole Body Fitness/w Lajuanna on 11/11/21 and has lost 60 lbs. Angela has made fitness and eating healthy a lifestyle. Although Angela had a few physical challenges such as Vertigo (not able to lie on her back without becoming dizzy), joint pain in the knees, and back pain she was determined to do what it takes to lose the weight and get healthier. What is the biggest impact on your fitness and eating lifestyle since working with Lajuanna? “I’m controlling what I eat and working out on my own as well. “
What is your fitness lifestyle now? “I’m motivated to continue my fitness lifestyle through healthier eating and exercising nearly every day.”

After 4 Months of Fitness Sessions With Lajuanna

Before I started working out, I had a hard time just walking. I had knee replacement surgery, many years ago and the surgery was not a success. Consequently, I had a very bad limp and basically had a hard time walking. Hence, I sat a lot! Since I’ve been working out with Lajuanna, I have more energy and more “get up and go!”
